I am the co-ordinator for the Shropshire & Telford & Wrekin ELP and wondered if anyone has any ideas or experence on how to encourage schools to complete the 10 question audit. I know it is available for them to complete on the village but how do you encourage them to do it, what incentive have they got to spend the time to do it when we're all so busy?

    Any ideas!

I can see the difficulty. Having just come out of a very busy teaching role in the last 12 months, I know how tough it can be. Maybe we need to look at some sort of incentive (teachers LOVE free pens and memory sticks! - can the EN budget stretch to that??) It would also ensure that registrants give their full postal address! The advantages to the ELP of completing this information are enormous - but that's no compensation to the busy teacher who has to complete the form, even though it only takes a few minutes to do it.

Definitely agree with you both. There has to be an incentive. One idea I am developing with Warwick is to offer support/feedback to those completing the CEI tools. For example, if you are answering 'No' or 'Unsure, the user will be given advice and useful resources on how to follow up. Equally, if a user is answering 'Yes', they are given access to the resources to ensure they maintain this level.

Good ideas! after putting more thought into it I feel we may also have more success if it hit a particular school target or linked in with another incentive, was part of the school plan etc. I'll keep thinking and try a few things and let you know if any work!
